I have a very poor internal compass. I must thank my Photokina navigator, my husband, without him I would have never made it to half the people and things I wanted to see.
First find of the day Richard Terborg! Amsterdam based photographer who I had the pleasure to meet last Photokina. A fellow loud soul and fantastic creative, Richard also shoots Olympus and told me that the Olympus booth was doing free camera cleanings. The best free find of the day, thank you Richard.
Oliver Schlichtherle found me and what a fantastic surprise it was! I had not seen Oliver since our epic adventures with Von Wong in Austria. Jen Brook was also modeling at Photokina so it felt like a mini reunion. Oliver had printed off some of his work at the Canon printers, I wish I had brought some of my digital images, great free find Oliver.
Fellow Kaiserslautern photographer, Mang- Yee, scored me, a free ticket to Photokina from 3 Legged Thing thank you lady and thing! I then handed my camera in for the rest of the day for cleaning. In the meantime I chatted with Jen Brook, and finally met up with Karen Y.G. Photography who I've been chatting with on social media for a year and DIY Photography Udi Tirosh who I talked super secretly to about crazy ideas that need to happen. It was very exciting.
30 minutes before closing I got my super clean camera back, thanks Olympus, and meet up with these beautiful people René Hildebrand, Yukio Tee, Katharina Heckel, and Thomas.
Then it was over. Golden hour had begun and Photokina was closed. I only made it to five of the nine halls. I did honestly have a tiny moment of what if I hide and stayed the night, while I visited the WC before leaving.
But then I remembered I have a baby. Dylan was a good trooper but it was time to go home.
Gruss von Photokina 2016!
